Tertiles of times/wk: men (<2, 2–6, and 7); women (<3, 3–6, and 7).
Vegetables: sum of days/week consuming the following items: green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, cabbage/broccoli/brussels sprouts, carrots, and squash/corn. Tertiles: men (<8, 8–13, and 13+); women (<9, 9 to <14, and 14+).
Sum of days/week consuming brown rice/whole wheat/barley, bran/corn muffins, oatmeal/shredded wheat/bran cereals. Tertiles: men (<1, 1 to <4, and 4+); women (<1, 1 to <4.5, and 4.5+).
Sum of days/week consuming smoked meats, frankfurters/sausage, fried bacon, and ham. Tertiles: men (<1, 1 to <4.5, and 4.5+); women (<1.5, 1.5 to <3, and 3+).
