FAQs

Q: What is an Institution?
A: An institution is defined as an established organization with multiple individuals conducting research across one or more physical locations.

Q: What is the cost for an online institutional license?
A: Pricing for an online institutional license is determined by a number of factors, including size and scope of the organization, relevant FTE count, and number of sites. Please contact pubsales@aacr.org to receive a quote for your organization.

Q: My institution has a current subscription to an AACR journal, but I cannot access the full text of articles and am prompted for a username and password. Why?
A: Your users may be accessing the AACR Journals platform from an IP address outside of the institution's registered network. If your institution's registered IP addresses need to be updated, please contact pubsales@aacr.org.

Q: Who from my institution can access an online journal?
A: Authorized Users as defined in your License Agreement. These can include full-time and part-time employees, students, and staff of the Licensee who have been given authorized access to the Secure Network of the Licensee.

Q: What are the terms and conditions of an online institutional license?
A: Please refer to the appropriate AACR License Agreement:

  • Academic Customer License Agreement (PDF)
  • Corporate Customer License Agreement (PDF)

Q: Do you guarantee perpetual access?
A: The AACR currently provides open, free electronic access to back issues of AACR journals, starting 12 months after publication of a journal issue. Should the Licensee cancel or fail to renew their license, the Licensee will continue to have access to those journals from the purchased AACR Journals published during the license period in question. AACR makes the commitment to enable our institutional subscribers to have perpetual access to the journal content subscribed to, or to which they have previously subscribed.

Q: How do I submit a claim for a missing print issue?
A: If you have a print subscription to one of our journals and did not receive an issue after 30 days from the issue publication date, please send us a claim at pubsales@aacr.org with your name, current mailing address, and the volume and issue number of the missing copy. One-time claims for missing issues made within 120 days of the issue's publication date will be honored while supplies last. No credits or refunds will be given if an issue is “out of print” at the time of claim.
