Q: What is your primary area of study/research?
A: Medical oncology, novel cancer treatment, and biomarker development.

Q: What influenced your decision to embark on a research career?
A: Dissatisfaction in suboptimal cancer treatment and the need for more personalized cancer treatment. Also, rapid progress in cancer genomics and immunology that’s waiting to be translated into improved patient outcomes in oncology.

Q; What excites you most about your research area?
A: I am excited about the fast pace of translation happening in the oncology field. Also, the fact that I can collaborate with world leaders in medicine to bring the best science to patients through innovative clinical trials and biomarker-based treatments.

Q: What do you do for fun outside of work? What are your passions and hobbies?
A: Mentoring trainees by doing a book club with them and taking students on medical mission trips to underserved areas in poor countries. Writing poems. Playing tennis and snowboarding.
