Q: What is your primary area of study/research?
A: Translational science, early-phase immunotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma, and COVID-19 and cancer.

Q: What influenced your decision to embark on a research career?
A: The prospect of never "fully owning" my discipline and of always having something new to discover.

Q; What excites you most about your research area?
A: Being able to decipher the biologic and clinical heterogeneity of liver cancer and offer novel therapies to patients. This is an aim that I applied to my research in COVID-19 and cancer, which has helped clinicians to recognize characteristics of vulnerability of cancer patients to SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Q: What do you do for fun outside of work? What are your passions and hobbies?
A: I am a keen traveler with friends and family, I love cooking, I like running, and I wish I had more time to read and keep fit.
