Roisin M. Connolly

Dr. Roisin M. Connolly joined the Clinical Cancer Research team as a senior editor in 2017. She was recently appointed as the Professor Gerald O’Sullivan Chair in Cancer Research at University College Cork and Cork University Hospital. Prior to this appointment in September 2019, she was an Associate Professor of Oncology and Co-Director of the Developmental Therapeutics Program at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Connolly’s research focuses on the development of biomarkers of response to anti-cancer therapies, and the design and conduct of clinical trials that test investigational new drugs in the treatment of patients with both early- and late-stage cancers. She received the prestigious ECOG-ACRIN Young Investigator Award for excellence in clinical investigation in 2019.
In addition to her editorial role at Clinical Cancer Research, Dr. Connolly serves as an ad hoc reviewer for Cancer Research. She has given presentations at multiple AACR meetings, with her most recent AACR presentation on the topic of WNT974, a first-in-class porcupine inhibitor, in patients with advanced solid tumors. She currently serves on the ASCO Cancer Education Committee for Metastatic Breast Cancer.
For her medical degree, Dr. Connolly graduated amongst the top in her class from Trinity College in Dublin; she completed medical oncology fellowship training at both Johns Hopkins University and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
