Long Noncoding RNA LINC01234 Functions as a Competing Endogenous RNA to Regulate CBFB Expression by Sponging miR-204-5p in Gastric Cancer
Q: What is your primary area of study/research?
A: The clinical relevance, biological function, and molecular mechanisms of noncoding RNAs (long noncoding RNAs and pseudogenes) in human cancers.
Q: What influenced your decision to embark on a research career?
A: Cancers are the leading cause of disease-related death worldwide, and some people around me have died from cancer. Hence, I tried my best to understand the molecular mechanism of tumorigenesis and hope our findings may help to make cancer history, which is also the wish of all of MD Anderson’s doctors and researchers.
Q; What excites you most about your research area?
A: Our studies are finding some interesting molecules, which may be useful for cancer patients’ diagnosis and survival prediction. And, our research has won the recognition of many colleagues worldwide.
Q: What are your hobbies or passions outside of work?
A: I often go fishing with friends at the seaside in Houston outside of work, so getting a big fish will be the greatest passion. My hobbies are fishing, cooking, and playing basketball.
