Overexpression and constitutive nuclear localization of cohesin protease Separase in human cancers. Immunofluorescence localization of Separase (red) to nucleus in a breast ductal carcinoma sample [nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue)] is shown here. Strong positive correlation of Separase mRNA expression with tumor grade and a strong negative correlation with disease-free and overall survival were also noted in breast and prostate carcinomas.
