The cover image is adapted from Fig. 4 in the article, “Projected Trends in the Incidence and Mortality of Uterine Cancer in the United States,” by Wright and colleagues. At present, there is no routine screening or prevention for uterine cancer. The changing risk profile for uterine cancer in the United States has challenged the ability to accurately forecast the burden of the disease. The objective of this study was to estimate the projected incidence and mortality of uterine cancer in the United States. To accomplish this, the authors developed a natural history model for uterine cancer calibrated to the population-based incidence and mortality of the disease. Figure 4 presents sensitivity analysis using maximum clinical incidence reduction scenario analysis in the birth cohort of 1940 to 1950. The authors utilized the model to project future trends in the incidence and mortality of uterine cancer through 2050. Projecting the incidence and mortality of uterine cancer can facilitate future cancer control efforts.
