Paraneoplastic syndrome may be the first sign of lung cancer. The purpose of our study was to asses the importanse of deep vein thrombosis as early sign of lung cancer. Study population consisted of 158 patients (105 male and 53 female) ,ranged in age from 35-82 , with mean age of 56,4 years. All patients have deep vein thrombosis one to four years before they were diagnostics as lung cancer. Patients were divided in two group: group I with deep vein thrombosis, and group II without deep vein thrombosis. Deep vein thrombosis were verificate in 9/158 patients (5,6 ), while 2 patients have pulmonary thromboembolosm.They were most commonly in adenocarcinoma of the lung ( 63,5%). The most common presentation were limb legs ( 81,81%) and one patient have migratorz thromboflebitis. At the time of thrombosis, two patients have metastatic desease. Deep vein thrombosis may be the first sign of lung cancer, and it is ussualy asosiated with metastatic desease.
