The US Precision Medicine Initiative All of Us Research Program seeks to engage at least 1 million diverse individuals across the US. To achieve this goal, the All of Us Research Program will recruit participants via health care provider organizations (including regional medical centers, federally qualified health centers, and Veterans Affairs Medical Centers) as well as through “direct volunteer” enrollment sites at fast-access convenience provider networks. All of Us will collect EHR records, participant-provided information, biospecimens, mobile and sensor data, and other data sources to provide a robust data sets for individuals. They will also be recontactable, based on user preferences, for possible subsequent studies and trials. Importantly, participants will have access to their information in All of Us. All of Us was launched May 6, 2018 and has now accrued over 95,000 individuals, with more than 160,000 having initially signed up. The ultimate goals for All of Us include enabling research that can lead to accurate diagnoses and redefinition of disease, more rational disease-prevention strategies, better treatment selection, and the discovery of novel therapies.
