DHHS Will Renew Funding for Cancer Prevention Efforts Free

June 30, 2025
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will continue to send funds to states for cancer prevention and tracking efforts, according to STAT. The funded programs are the National Program of Cancer Registries, the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program, all of which sit within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They help states collect data on cancer cases and improve prevention efforts and cancer screening. States hadn’t received information in recent weeks about these programs, prompting concerns that funding would not be renewed.
