Improved Survival with Diet and Exercise Proven in Phase III Colon Cancer Trials Available to Purchase

Patients with colon cancer who worked with fitness specialists to develop and implement a structured exercise plan survived longer than those who did not, according to the phase III CHALLENGE study. In a separate study—the CALGB/SWOG 80702 trial—researchers demonstrated that an anti-inflammatory diet boosts overall survival among patients with colon cancer. Together, the results present a strong argument for incorporating the two interventions into these patients’ care.
