DFCI Wins Approval for $1.7 Billion Hospital

Boston, MA–based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) secured approval from the state to build a 300-bed hospital at the current site of the Joslin Diabetes Center in the city’s Longwood Medical Area. The Massachusetts Public Health Council voted unanimously to greenlight the plans for the $1.7 billion standalone facility. The hospital will serve as the hub for collaboration between DFCI, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians.
