Extracellular Vesicles from the Lung Induce Cancer-Associated Thrombosis

March 5, 2025

Major Finding: The lung microenvironment drives cancer-related thrombosis by secreting extracellular vesicles.
Concept: Pro-thrombotic extracellular vesicles contain clustered integrin β2, which drives platelet aggregation.
Impact: Integrin β2–containing extracellular vesicles may be targeted to prevent thrombosis and metastasis.
