High-risk ER+ Breast Cancers Genomically Resemble HER2+ Tumors

January 30, 2025

Main Finding: HER2+ breast tumors and high-risk ER+ breast tumors share genomic features that reflect similar mechanisms of tumor evolution.
Concept: The genomic architecture of breast cancer is constrained by three primary archetypes, in which HER+ and high-risk ER+ group together.
Impact: This study suggests that these two subgroups, conventionally treated distinctly, may share therapeutic vulnerabilities.
