Japan to Contribute Resources to Honduras
September 25, 2024
The governments of Japan and Honduras have joined forces with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to improve access to cancer care in Honduras as part of the IAEA’s Rays of Hope initiative. Under the partnership, formed at the United Nations General Assembly, Japan plans to contribute facilities and equipment to expand radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiotherapy facilities in Honduras, while the IAEA will offer technical guidance. Rays of Hope helps low- and middle-income countries establish radiation-based medical services and has been implemented in over 30 countries to date.
