Is Transplant an Option for Patients with Colorectal Cancer and Liver Metastases?

Abstract: Two studies explored novel approaches for patients with colorectal cancer patients and liver metastases, who historically fare poorly. A phase I immunotherapy study revealed varied efficacy based on liver involvement, while the TRANSMET trial demonstrated significantly improved survival with liver transplantation plus chemotherapy, raising important questions about optimal treatment strategies for these patients.
