Genetics Predicts Later-Life Cancer Risk in Childhood Survivors

March 19, 2024

Abstract: Genetic testing for inherited risk factors could help predict which survivors of childhood cancer are at greatest risk of developing later-life malignancies. By developing and validating tumor type–specific risk scores, this research paves the way for tailored screening and follow-up care, aiming to mitigate the onset of subsequent cancers as these children age.
