SMARCAL1 Favors Tumor Immune Evasion Through Dual Mechanisms

Major Finding: SMARCAL1 drives tumor immune escape by suppressing innate immune signaling and inducing PD-L1 expression.
Concept: SMARCAL1 represses activation of the cGAS-STING pathway and cooperates with JUN to enhance PD-L1 expression.
Impact: These results suggest that SMARCAL1 could be a promising cancer immunotherapy target.
