Immunotherapy with artificial adjuvant vector cells programs local immune responses by establishing tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) composed of CXCL10-producing CD11c+ dendritic cells and antigen-specific CD8+ T cells around the CD31+ VCAM-1+ ICAM-1+ vessels seen in tumor sites. The image depicts immunofluorescence staining of the normalized vessels with CD31 (green), ICAM-1 (red), and DAPI (blue) at tumor sites. The TLS-associated vascular normalization at tumor sites may enable the trafficking of tumor-specific CTL into tumor-associated TLS.
