Both rate-zonal and isopycnic-zonal centrifugation experiments indicate that 67Ga in rat tumors (RFT tumor and Morris 7777, 5123C, and 7794A hepatomas) and in a mouse lymphosarcoma (P-1798) is associated with lysosomal granules. The particles were identified enzymatically by their acid phosphatase and N-acetyl-β-d-glucosaminidase content. Autoradiography of selected gallium-binding granule fractions showed silver grains concentrated over electrondense single-membrane organelles.
