This is one of six papers presented at the Joint Symposium of the American Association for Cancer Research, Inc., and the Tissue Culture Association on the subject “Recent Contributions of Tissue Culture to Cancer Research.” This symposium was held in Philadelphia on April 11, 1958. Another paper from this symposium by Graff and McCarty appears in this issue, and the remaining four papers will be published in subsequent issues of Cancer Research.
