Summary
Attempts to establish “actively acquired tolerance” to homologous and heterologous tumors have been described. Some measure of success was obtained with homologous transplants; no effect was demonstrated with heterologous grafts.
Some of the reasons for failure are discussed, and possible methods of improving the results are considered.
