The presentation will review current social media-based health communication programs applied in a variety of health areas, including cancer addition, obesity and sexual health. Beginning with a broad description of the public's health-related social media use, I will summarize types of interventions and illustrate them with specific exemplary projects. Special attention will be given to issues of measurement and evaluation; in particular I will discuss how social media utilization, reach, and impact are measured with respect to health-related attitudes and behaviors.
