From 2011 to 2015, patients with lung cancer had the highest mortality rates. On average, 53.8 men and 35.4 women per 100,000 died of the disease each year (Cancer 2018;124:2785–800). Notably, the largest decrease in mortality occurred in men with lung cancer. Patients with breast and prostate cancers had the next highest mortality rates.
