Michael A. Caligiuri, MD. began his new role as president and physician-in-chief of City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA. Most recently, Caligiuri was the director of The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center and CEO of the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute in Columbus. He is renowned for his work in immunology, which focuses on how human natural killer cells modulate the treatment of leukemia, myeloma, and glioblastoma. Currently, Caligiuri is president of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), serving a 1-year term that will end in April. He has also worked with the AACR in various other capacities, including as a member of the Board of Directors and the Clinical and Translational Cancer Research Committee, and as chair of the Publications Committee.
