Culture Media Tweak Makes Heartier CARs

Supplementing growth media with a naturally occurring nucleoside has been found to enhance the antitumor and proliferative capabilities of CAR T-cell therapies. Research presented at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer's Annual Meeting indicates that inosine triggers metabolic reprogramming within the cells, resulting in a more stem-like state that helps counteract exhaustion.
