Testing Proton FLASH RT in Bone Mets Available to Purchase

Findings from FAST-01, a first-in-human trial of proton FLASH radiotherapy, indicate that this approach is safe and seems as effective as conventional radiation in relieving pain from bone metastases in the arms and legs, with no additional or unexpected toxicity. The mechanism underlying FLASH's selective protection of normal versus tumor tissue remains unclear, however.
