According to Thomson Reuters' Journal Citation Report® (JCR; Clarivate Analytics 2017), publications from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) continue to be rated among the most influential journals in cancer research and medicine. The entire portfolio of AACR journals, which represent 3.7% of the 217 journals in the Oncology category, garnered 15.5% of all citations in the same category. One half of the AACR journals rank in the top 8% in regard to Impact Factor in the Oncology category. Cancer Discovery ranks 7th in the Oncology category, with its fourth Impact Factor (20.011). Clinical Cancer Research ranks 12th in the Oncology category with an Impact Factor of 9.619 and Cancer Research's Impact Factor of 9.122, ranks the journal in 15th in the Oncology category. The Impact Factor for Cancer Immunology Research increased over 24%, to 8.284, compared to the previous year.
Impact Factor:
As reported in the most recent release of the JCR, four of the eight AACR journals rank in the top 8% of oncology journals with regard to Impact Factor.

Immediacy Index:
An Immediacy Index is a measure of how topical and urgent work published in a scientific journal is. The Immediacy Index is calculated by dividing the number of citations to articles published in a given year by the number of articles published in that year. Six of the eight AACR journals rank in the top 20% in terms of Immediacy Index. Cancer Discovery, Cancer Research, and Clinical Cancer Research rank in the top 20 of the 213 journals in the Oncology category.
